担当官からメールが帰ってきて、あっさり「状況が困難なことはよくわかりました。1年間有効のビザではなく、パスポートの有効期間内のビザでも構わないのなら、それでビザを発行しますよ」とのこと。夫のパスポートはＮＺで更新し、ビザシール（じゃなくて入国後はパーミットだ）を貼りなおしてもらうことにする。

とりあえずホッ。

次は現職場の退職時期の調整及び内定を出してくれた機関の正式な就任日の調整。現職場では、3-month-noticeが必要なので、今日辞任の連絡をしても実際辞められるのは7月末である。ＮＺの機関は6月頭に来て欲しいとのこと。ＮＺ側があまりcommunicativeでないのが少し気になる。

Our case officer had replied instantaneously that she could issue the residence visa on my husband's current passport without renewing it.  The visa will be valid usually for a year but since the passport is expiring in November, likewise the visa is also valid until the passport epires.  We should be able to make it to New Zealand way before November.  Now we can forget about renewing passports for a while.

The next step would be arranging the dates of resigning and taking up the new position.  The new employer seems to be not so much communicative.  Hope they can agree on a reasonable date.
